Music has been a great part of my life for a long time now. I enjoy composing my own music, improvising at the piano, and occasionally learning new songs by ear.
As of writing this (2013), I have very little training in music theory, aside from an intuition I’ve developed with practice and a bit of light reading. I have been involved with various ensembles over the years, including the Harvard University Band, where I played trombone.
I started playing piano in 2nd grade, stopped in 4th grade when I started playing trombone with my school band. In 7th grade, I taught myself to play trumpet, and I re-ignited my passion for piano by playing on my own.
Musical Recordings:
I often record myself playing piano, even if I am improvising. Sometimes I use MIDI software and record the computer playback, or I’ll play the piece for a recording.
Included here are links to a few of my recordings:
- Winter at the Fireplace (2:08, piano improv 12/17/2012)
- Post Harvest (1:49, piano improv 11/27/2012)
- Boston Strong
(4:15, partial composition & improv | edited recordings, 04/15/2014)
Based on my experience running the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013. This song runs 4:15 and features a grand pause at 2:50.
Thank you for listening, and enjoy!
